Mushroom tastings, workshops and farm visits in Sheffield

Tastings · workshops · farm visits

Come and see what is growing—or talk supply for your kitchen.

We are a small working mushroom farm at Lion Works in Kelham Island. Chefs can arrange a tasting or discuss weekly supply; everyone else can register interest in workshops, grow kits and occasional farm visits.

Choose the conversation you want to have.

If something is ready to book, we will say so. If it is still being planned, you can register interest and we will contact you when the details are real.

01 · FOR KITCHENS

Arrange a chef tasting

Tell us what is on your menu, the volume you normally use and which varieties interest you. We will confirm what is fruiting and arrange a sensible time to bring samples or welcome you to the farm.

  • Lion’s Mane
  • Oyster varieties
  • Limited seasonal lines
  • Weekly standing orders

02 · FOR CURIOUS GROWERS

Join the workshop list

Our workshops will be practical sessions at Lion Works: see the growing room and lab, learn how a fruiting block works, make a grow kit and take it home.

Dates and prices are still being prepared. Registering interest does not commit you to a booking.

03 · BY ARRANGEMENT

Ask about a farm visit

This is a compact working farm rather than a drop-in visitor attraction. We can sometimes arrange small visits and conversations for chefs, food businesses, community groups and genuinely curious mushroom people.

Tell us who would be coming and what you would most like to see.

Ask about a visit →

Small on purpose. Visits by arrangement.

The fruiting room, clean lab and working areas are inside a five-by-four-metre unit. That intimacy is part of the experience, but every visit needs to fit around harvests, cleaning and production. We will always confirm the date, group size and what can be seen before you travel.

GET IN TOUCH

Tell us what you are interested in.

Use the subject line to tell us whether this is about chef samples, trade supply, workshops, grow kits or a farm visit. For trade supply, it helps to include your approximate weekly volume and the varieties you are interested in.

We will use your details only to respond to your enquiry.

    Before you get in touch

    Where is the farm?

At Lion Works in Kelham Island, Sheffield. We will send arrival details after a visit is confirmed.

    Can I just drop in?

No. It is a working production space, so tastings and visits need to be arranged in advance.

    Are workshop dates available?

Not yet. Join the interest list and we will contact you when dates, duration, capacity and prices are confirmed.

    Do you offer chef samples?

Yes, subject to the current fruiting schedule. Tell us what you cook and what volume you might need so we can make the tasting useful.
